Ted Bun … Who He?

Yep that’s me, with clothes on.
So what do you need to know?
I was born in Lundin (London) in 1956 and grew up in southern England – something that is reflected in my writing.
I was educated, but very little of it stuck.
Married too many times, but I have finally met my match in Mrs Bun.
I had what now called a portfolio career. That is to say I never found what I realy wanted to do until I retired and took over running a naturist resort in Portugal before relocating to the south of France in 2015.
A bit about my writing life?
I am dyslexic, so before the advent of computers I did everything I could to avoid writing.
The earliest written thing I can find that could be described as fiction, – excluding sales reports and expenses claims, – is a fluff piece for a local paper. I played guitar in a blues band (This Way Up) and wrote an alternative history of the blues. Did you know they originated in the hop gardens of Kent? Adopted as work songs by the Chatham based sailors. From whom the captive slaves learnt ….
Sorry, where was I? Computers. No, they are just a tool.
On the M25, the London Orbital Motorway, aka The Magic Roundabout or the Circular Car Park, going nowhere fast, I listened to BBC Radio 4. A non-music radio station. There would be book readings, plays, and short stories interspersed with quiz shows and comedies. Just occasionally I would arrive at a destination and have to get out of the car and do some work, sometimes mid-story!
I made up endings on my way home.
When we arrived in France, many years later. I had the time to add beginnings to some of those endings.
Armed with a computer (I mentioned them earlier) and a copy of Word (the spulchequer a great invention) I flexed a finger and started to type. The Uncovered Policeman emerged in early 2016.
Style?
Maybe ….
According to others I write romantic, humorous, and character-driven stories, frequently exploring cosy romance, naturism, and light fiction. My work includes a few full length novels but I mainly write novellas, short stories, and series.
I think there is an element of gritty realism in there too, but that is just me.
Publisher?
No publisher in their right mind would publish stories about people who run around naked.
Everything out there by me is published independently. Even though the Uncovered Policeman has outsold 40% of the titles published by traditional publishers.
